<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine structured to selectively change the probability of winning in a lottery for releasing the retention state of a retaining device between a high probability state and a low probability state to enhance the game properties. <P>SOLUTION: The game machine comprises a first lottery means 33 for executing a lottery for a jackpot, a main display device 47 for displaying the result of the lottery executed by the first lottery means 33, jackpot processing means 35, 37, 38, 39 and 41 for executing a jackpot process based on the winning of a jackpot by the first lottery means 33, and the retaining device for retaining a prescribed number of game balls and releasing the retained game balls toward a winning hole when the retention state is released.
