PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of achieving prolongation of the service life of a light source device and power saving because the light source device is not turned on needlessly, and also achieving improvement of convenience. SOLUTION: A master control part 241 constituting the projector 1 is equipped with: an information acquiring part 2411 to acquire medium conveying information showing that a recording medium conveyed to the inside of a reproducing device 3 is conveyed to the outside; a state switching control part 2415 to perform ON switching control that a main power source part 221 is switched from an OFF state to an ON state when the main power source part 221 is in the OFF state and the medium conveying information is acquired by the information acquiring part 2411; an operation control part 2414 to control a loading mechanism 32 to perform conveying operation after the ON switching control is performed by the state switching control part 2415; and a light source control part 2416 to perform turn-off maintaining control that the turn-off state of the light source device 231 is maintained after the ON switching control is performed by the state switching control part 2415.
