PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring an apparent density of a porous part, capable of measuring an apparent density of an infinite porous part with easiness and high precision, without radiation control of X-rays andγ-rays, a downstream process, such as drying, possibility of changes of an object to be measured in physical properties, and a method therefor. SOLUTION: The device for measuring an apparent density of a porous part, comprises beads 12 with a particle size incapable of intruding into vacancies of the porous part 1; a container 14 with an opening in the upper part capable of passing porous parts, capable of accommodating porous parts and beads; a cover 16 capable of accommodating porous parts between the opening being closed openably and the container 14 and of filling beads without clearances around the porous parts; and a vibrator 18 capable of exciting the container in a condition which is closed with the cover from the start of filling beads to the close-packed condition. The cover 16 has a messcylinder 20 capable of measuring the volume V' of total beads including the porous part 1 and the volume V of only beads 12 excepting the porous part 1.
