摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a code amount of the coding results at the poststage while preserving a perceptive impression as much as possible by executing the preprocessing corresponding to perceptual characteristics of a human to a luminance/color-difference separation type video signal at the prestage of image coding. <P>SOLUTION: After inputting the luminance/color-difference separation video signal, (i) temporal LPF in a cutoff frequency of F (for example, 2 Hz) is applied to blue-yellow components in a color-difference signal, (ii) spatial LPF in a cutoff frequency of C (for example, 3 cycles/image) to the blue-yellow components in the color-difference signal, and (iii) temporal BEF in the low-frequency cut-off of F1 (for example, 2 Hz) and in the high-frequency cut-off of F2 (for example, 6 Hz) is applied to each of the luminance signal and the color-difference signal. The preprocessing for attenuating a partial band in the spatial band, temporal band, and color spatial band provided to the video signal is executed by utilizing a filter having the cutoff frequency predetermined by the subjective experiments. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p>
