PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a water leak monitoring device and method of a higher degree using a water leak detector. SOLUTION: Information showing a relation between the time integral rate and the distance from the measurement point to a water leak place, and information showing a relation between the time integral rate and the water leak amount, are used as data for reference. Image information showing a water pipe system diagram and the water leak measurement point is used as an area map database. Determination information on the existence of the water leak in a plurality of places and information on the time integral rate are collected and displayed on the image information together with the measurement point at which the determination information showing the existence of the water leak is acquired. The variation in distance from the measurement point to the water leak place is bar-displayed by selectively varying the water leak amount in the reference data, and a place on which the bar-display from a plurality of points abuts can be seen as the actual water leak place on the display section.
