PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor in which a stator is stably supported in a sealed vessel to reduce vibration and noise when operating. SOLUTION: The compressor is provided with the sealed vessel 1 molded by a plurality of split molds 81, and a compressor element 2 and an electric motor element 3, both of which are stored in the sealed vessel 1. The stator 26 of the electric motor element 3 is fitted into the sealed vessel 1. The number of the portions 50 which are formed to the sealed vessel 1 to protrude toward an inside diameter is 12, and the numbers of slots 53 and cut-out parts 56 of a stator core 30 in the stator 26 are six, respectively. The pressure-contact holding parts 58 at which the protruded portions 50 are pressure-contacted with the periphery of the stator core 30 are provided at equal pitch along the peripheral direction.
