PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound arrester which can easily be mounted on a soundproof wall. SOLUTION: When mounting the sound arrester 30 on an upper portion of the soundproof wall 12, a plurality of supports 20 are mounted on upper portions of the soundproof wall 12, and the sound arrester 30 is arranged at the upper side of the supports 20. Then engaging members 36 of the sound arrester are fitted into grooves 27 from above, and slid downward. Thus the sound arrester 30 is arranged in a space R between the supports, and the engaging members 36 are engaged with the supports 20.
