PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device, adopting a film heating system, smoothing rotation of a film in a simplified constitution. SOLUTION: This image heating device includes: a sleeve 2 having flexibility; a heater 3 sliding with the inner periphery of the sleeve 2; a stay holder 1 to which the heater 3 is fitted, that is configured to guide the rotation of the sleeve 2; and a pressure roller 6 pressed to a part opposite to the heater with the sleeve 2 interposed between them to thereby form a nip part N with the sleeve 2, wherein a sheet material P is held in the nip part N and carried, thereby heating an image on the sheet material P from the heater 3 through the sleeve 2. In the driving initial state of the image heating device, grease is interposed between the sleeve 2 and the heater 3 and between the stay holder 1 and the heater 3, and≥30 wt.% grease of the total quantity of grease interposed between the sleeve 2 and the heater 3 and between the stay holder 1 and the heater 3 is interposed between the stay holder 1 and the heater 3.
