A power steering oil pump for an automobile is provided to improve formation of an oil layer and durability of a pump because the oil layer is created in shaft over a specified level. A power steering oil pump for an automobile comprises a drive shaft(10) which contacts with the inner circumference of a bush(12), and a plurality of grooves(14) which are formed in the outer circumference of drive shaft. The groove is circular-shaped in the circumferential direction of the shaft. The grooves are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the shaft at a constant interval.
