An image signal processing apparatus and an image display which are hallowed to achieve stereoscopic image display with a more natural sense of depth are provided. The image signal processing apparatus includes: a first motion vector detection section and an information obtaining section. The first motion vector detection section detects one or more two-dimensional motion vectors as motion vectors along an X-Y plane of an image, from an image-for-left-eye and an image-for-right-eye which have a parallax therebetween. The information obtaining section obtains, based on the detected two-dimensional motion vectors, information pertaining to a Z-axis direction. The Z-axis direction is a depth direction in a stereoscopic image formed with the image-for-left-eye and the image-for-right-eye. |
