PURPOSE: An axle shaft for a vehicle and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce deformation occurred during a heat-treatment process by integrally coupling a main body and a spline member. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of an axle shaft for a vehicle is as follows. A first pipe body, which is a main body(10) of an axle shaft, with a big diameter and a second pipe body, which is a spline member, with a small diameter are prepared. The first pipe body is expanded and is composed of a spline forming part, a first inclined part(3), a first pipe body part(4), a second inclined part(5), and a second pipe body part(6). A concavo-convex part(8) is formed in the spline forming part. Concavo-convex parts(11) are formed in both inner ends of the main body.
