PURPOSE: A composition containing Eriobotryae Folium extract for preventing and treating neurodegenerative diseases is provided to protect brain cells and to ensure radical removal ability. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating neurodegenerative diseases contains 0.1-95% weight(w/w%) of Eriobotryae Folium extract as an active ingredient. The Eriobotryae Folium extract is obtained using water, methanol, ethanol, butanol or a mixture solvent thereof. A health food for preventing and treating neurodegenerative diseases contains the Eriobotryae Folium extract as an active ingredient. The health food is used in the form of a powder, granule, tablet, capsule or beverage.
