PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for supporting personal setting information for each user are provided to safely use common terminals by preventing the storage of personal information in the common terminals. CONSTITUTION: A personal terminal(110) implements a remote controlling function based on the request of a user. The remote controlling function is capable of implementing duplex communication. The personal terminal is converted into a remote controlling mode in order to implement the remote controlling function based on the request of the user. User authentication information and personal setting information are transmitted to a common terminal(120) using the remote controlling function. In the common terminal, an authentication process with respect to an authentication server(130) is implemented.
