PURPOSE: A security information display device and a method thereof are provided to selectively use an optimum access point by accurately confirming an access point-based security mode and an encryption algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A micom sets an access point search mode(S10). The micom transmits a probe request packet to an access point(S11). The micom receives a probe response packet from the access points(S12). The micom analyzes the probe response packet(S13). The access point determines the use of an WEP algorithm(S15). The use of the WPA(Wifi Protected Access) 2 mode or a WPA mode is determined(S16). The micom determines a TKIP(Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) or an AES(Advanced Encryption Standard)(S17). The micom controls the operation of an OSD generator(S18). The micom executes the request operation of a user(S19). |
