PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress variation of thrust in driving a linear actuator in a simple configuration and to control the thrust with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A linear actuator 100 comprises: a rotary part 106 (outside part) with which a circular hole 106A (hole) is formed in a central part; a movable part 104 (inside part) which is disposed within the circular hole 106A; and a motor 102 for rotationally driving one of the rotary part 106 and the movable part 104 around an axis of the circular hole 106A. In one of inner circumferential parts 112A and 113A of the circular hole 106A and an outer circumferential part 111A of the movable part 104, different magnetic poles are formed alternately at a predetermined interval interposed therebetween in a circumferential direction over two layers in an axial direction. The magnetic poles in the two layers neighboring to each other in the axial direction are different from each other. In the other of the inner circumferential parts 112A and 113A of the circular hole 106A and the outer circumferential part 111A of the movable part 104, different magnetic poles are formed alternately at a predetermined interval interposed therebetween in a circumferential direction. The other of the rotary part 106 and the movable part 104 is relatively movable in the axial direction and the rotation thereof in the axial direction is limited.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
