PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face recognition device that alleviates a load of the device.SOLUTION: In a registration mode, a face recognition device executes processing including a first step of: acquiring a face photograph image of a person scheduled to be registered; extracting a first amount of characteristic composed of a variable of a relatively few number on the basis of the face photograph image; calculating a degree of similarity between the first amount of characteristic of the person scheduled to be registered and a first amount of characteristic of a registered person; and when the registered person approximate to the first amount of characteristic does not exist, registering the first amount of characteristic of the person scheduled to be registered, and a second step of: when the registered person approximate to the first amount of characteristic exists, extracting a second amount of characteristic having a new variable added to the variable consisting of the first amount of characteristic on the basis of the face photograph image of the person scheduled to be registered; calculating a degree of similarity between the second amount of characteristic of the person scheduled to be registered and a second amount of characteristic of the registered person; and when the registered person approximate to the second amount of characteristic does not exist in the registered person approximate to the first amount of characteristic, registering the second amount of characteristic of the person scheduled to be registered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
