The cell has a support substrate (1) made of monocystalline silicon and including a main face with a textured zone covered by a transparent conductive oxide layer forming an antireflection coating layer. The conductive oxide layer is formed by a transparent conductive layer (2b) covered by an indium tin oxide layer (2a), where the conductive and indium tin oxide layers have different constituents. The conductive layer is made of zinc oxide, tin dioxide or indium oxide. Patterns are defined by sections of the substrate. An amorphous silicon layer is provided on a surface of the substrate. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a photovoltaic cell.
