METHOD FOR OBTAINING ANTIBACTERIAL SUBSTANCE FROM GUAVA AND USES OF THE SUBSTANCE

PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing Psidium guajava leaf-derived antibacterial material is provided to suppress atopic dermatitis, athlete's foot and E.coli infection. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing an antibacterial material from Psidium guajava comprises: a first step of leaching Psidium guajava leaves in MeOH; a second step of decompressing leached liquid and suspending; a third step of adding hexane to the suspended liquid to separate hexane fraction and remaining liquid; a fourth step of adding chloroform to the remaining liquid of third step to obtain chloroform fraction and remaining liquid; and a fifth step of butanol to the remaining liquid of fourth step to obtain butanol fraction. A composition for suppressing atopic dermatitis contains the butanol fraction of Psidium guajava as the antibacterial material.
