#CMT# #/CMT# The prosthesis has a connection unit for rigidly connecting an artificial tooth (3) to a natural abutment tooth (1) in a mouth. The connection unit includes a retention bar (4) serving as a periodontal splint on which the artificial tooth is fixed. Relative position of the artificial tooth with respect to the splint is chosen such that a free portion of the splint occupies an intratooth position in the abutment tooth. A recess is provided in the abutment tooth, when the prosthesis is subsequently placed in the recess forming an occlusal-proximal cavity (6). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Fixed dental prosthesis for replacing a missing tooth to conserve a functional and aesthetic dental arch. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The configuration of the prosthesis eliminates the need for an expensive silicone, polyether or hydrocolloid impression, thus reducing the cost required for forming the prosthesis. The configuration of the prosthesis allows a dentist to remove the retention bar for withdrawing the prosthesis in a simple manner, without attacking the body of the natural abutment teeth, thus improving the reversibility of the prosthesis, and reducing the replacement cost of the prosthesis.
