PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure and a method for manufacturing an organic EL element simple and excellent in manufacturing properties and for forming an organic layer in a wet printing method.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element includes an anode metal layer 12 having a first area and a second area other than the first formed on a substrate 11, a metal oxide layer 13 formed in the first area as well as the second area as a surface of the anode metal layer 12 is oxidized, an insulating layer 14 formed in the first area on the metal oxide layer 13, a hole transport layer 15 formed in the second area on the metal oxide layer 13, and an organic light-emitting layer 16 as well as a cathode layer 17 formed on the hole transport layer 15. The metal oxide layer 13 of the first area and the metal oxide layer 13 of the second area are continuously arranged, and yet, an underside of the metal oxide layer 13 at a second area side is positioned further downward than an underside of the metal oxide layer 13 at a first area side. |
