PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a damping device without adding a weight exclusively used for damping to a horizontal axis wind turbine by which a wind power generation device is constituted.SOLUTION: This horizontal axis wind turbine includes a supporting mechanism (a rail mechanism 7) for movably supporting a generator 6 in a predetermined direction A (or B), a universal joint 8 (or a spline 15) which allows the generator 6 to move at least in the predetermined direction relative to the spindle 2 of the rotor 1 and serves as a connection mechanism for connecting the spindle to the generator so that the rotation of the spindle can be transmitted to the generator, and a damper 9. The damping mechanism uses the generator 6 as a weight for damping. The damping device is used for both passive damping and active damping. |
