PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave absorbing heating element having a greatly higher temperature rising speed than a conventional dielectric or magnetic material while stopping temperature rise in a range of 200-300°C adequate for heating foods, and to provide cooking utensil using the same.SOLUTION: As a heating element absorbing electromagnetic waves, the electromagnetic wave absorbing heating element is used which is formed of a Y-type hexagonal ferrite having a composition formula: (BaSr)MFeO, where M is of one or two or more types selected from Mg, Ni, Co, Cu and Zn, and x: 1.8-2.2, y: 1.8-2.2, z: 11.8-12.2, w: 21.8-22.2, n: 0-0.25. |
