PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of inspecting a coating state using the imaging result of a coating surface even in the case that there is no printing pattern on the coating surface pressed to a coating target.SOLUTION: The coating apparatus includes a felt material F for holding a coating agent J in a moisture absorbing state, a work driving part 22 for moving at least one of the felt material F and the coating target W to mutually bring the coating surface of the felt material F and the edge face of the coating target W into contact with each other and imparting pressing force across both surfaces brought into contact with each other, a camera C for imaging the coating surface of the felt material F after the pressing force is imparted across the coating surface of the felt material F and the edge face of the coating target W to output a variable density image, a binarization processing part 60a for binarizing the variable density image from the camera C on the basis of a variable density value in order to detect the state of the coating mark left on the coating surface, and a coating state determing part 60c for comparing the binarized result with a preset threshold value to determine the coating state of the coating agent J. |
