PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrator which can perform dehydration with simple constitution in a short period of time at a high volume reduction rate.SOLUTION: The dehydrator 10 is constituted of: a compression tank 12 divided into two compression tanks 12A, 12B; a drainage pan 34; a vertical side press mechanism 40 pressing a treatment object in the compression tank 12 in a vertical direction; and horizontal side press mechanisms 80A, 80B, 80A', 80B' pressing the treatment object in a horizontal direction. The vertical side press mechanism 40 is slidable along the edge part 22 of the compression tank 12, and is usable in both of the compressing tanks 12A, 12B. The treatment object charged to the compression tank 12A is, after being subjected to vertical side press by the vertical side press mechanism 40, pressed in a horizontal direction by the horizontal side press mechanisms 80A, 80B, and is further pressed in a vertical direction by the vertical side press mechanism 40. When the press direction is changed, temporarily, the lump of the treatment object is collapsed and is stirred, thus its hydration is made easy. |
