PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition that easily produces an optical anisotropic film having improved heat resistance, which is useful for optical compensation of a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: The composition for producing a biaxial optical anisotropic film having a deformed twisted helical structure contains a polymerizable liquid crystal compound and a polymerization initiator containing an oxime ester compound. A method for producing an optical anisotropic film includes applying the liquid crystal composition on a support, subjecting the liquid crystal composition to cholesteric alignment, and irradiating the liquid crystal composition with polarized light, but not includes irradiating the composition with non-polarized light before irradiating the composition with polarized light. |
