PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for suppressing the occurrence of low charging toner and a reverse-polarity toner in a developer.SOLUTION: A developing device includes an independent member arranged on the image carrier and allowing surface potential to be independent of the surface potential of the image carrier; a developing roller adjacent to both of an image carrier and the independent member and for conveying the developer to a developing region facing the image carrier and a counter region facing the independent member; a first housing part adjacent to the developing roller and for conveying the developer to a first direction; a second housing part adjacent to the first housing part and disposed with conveying ports, disposed at the both ends thereof for moving the developer between the first housing part and conveying the developer to a second direction opposite to the first direction; a toner feed part for feeding toner to the second housing part; and a feed position change mechanism for receiving a command for changing the feed position for feeding the toner to the second housing part with the toner feed part, and changing the feed position to a direction along the second direction. The image forming apparatus includes the developing device; and a change command part for commanding the change of the feed position to a position, corresponding to the feed amount of the toner to the second housing part to the feed position change mechanism. |
