PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF POLYCARBONATE

PURPOSE: A method for preparing polycarbonate is provided to produce products with high purity and good yield by maximizing the recycling of process wastewater and by-products caused by the manufacture of polycarbonate. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing oligocarbonate and/or polycarbonate comprises the steps of: performing transesterification of bisphenol using diaryl carbonate to obtain oligocarbonate and/or polycarbonate and monophenol; isolating or separating the oligocarbonate and/or polycarbonate from a monophenol; and reacting the monophenol with carbonyl dihalide in the presence of an alkaline solution and separating a product including alkali metal halide and diaryl carbonate.
