PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prognostic method useful in medicine, particularly cancer chemotherapy.SOLUTION: A method for evaluating TS and/or ERCC1 expression levels in immobilized or immobilized and paraffin embedded tissues is provided. Estimation of probable resistance of the tumor of a patient to be treated by 5-FU and oxaliplatin-based therapies by examining the amount of TS and/or ERCC1 mRNA in tumor cells of the patient and comparing the amount to a predetermined threshold expression level for those genes is also provided. |
