PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake stabilizing a braking effect by lowering a servo effect during travelling and exerting a high braking effect by enhancing the servo effect during parking, and improving a degree of freedom in layout of a brake cable in a vehicle.SOLUTION: Since a parking cable 78 is pulled in an approximately vertical direction with respect to a backing plate 16 to widen the other end parts 18b, 20b of a pair of brake shoes 18, 20, an arranging direction of the parking brake cable 78 faces in an approximately vertical direction with respect to the backing plate 16 to improve the degree of freedom in layout of the parking brake cable 78 in the vehicle. The drum brake 10 operates a wheel cylinder 22 during the travelling to be in a leading trailing braking state, and operates an expansion device 32 to be in duo-servo braking state during the parking, so as to stabilize the braking effect by lowering the servo effect during the travelling and to exert high braking effect by enhancing the servo effect during the parking. |
