PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new combination of microbicidal agents, which exerts higher activity compared to those of the individual microbicidal agents.SOLUTION: A synergistic microbicidal composition includes (a) N-(n-butyl)-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one; and (b) methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, benzoic acid or a salt thereof, sorbic acid or a salt thereof, dehydroacetic acid or a salt thereof, provided that the weight ratio of N-(n-butyl)-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one to methylparaben is from 1:0.2 to 1:250, the weight ratio of N-(n-butyl)-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one to ethylparaben is from 1:1 to 1:200, the weight ratio of N-(n-butyl)-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one to propylparaben is from 1:1 to 1:500, the weight ratio of N-(n-butyl)-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one to benzoic acid or a salt thereof is from 1:10 to 1:1,600, the weight ratio of N-(n-butyl)-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one to sorbic acid or a salt thereof is from 1:6 to 1:1,200, and the weight ratio of N-(n-butyl)-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one to dehydroacetic acid or a salt thereof is from 1:0.5 to 1:7. |
