PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a reception area and to enable registration of a broadcast channel receivable in the area.SOLUTION: A receiving device receives a predetermined channel for digital terrestrial broadcasting. When reception is possible, a demultiplexer 14 extracts a Network Information Table (NIT). A controlling section 22 identifies an area identification from a network ID written in the NIT. Then, the controlling section identifies the reception area based on broadcast station information stored in a broadcast station storage section 19, the received channel information, and the area identification. When the predetermined channel cannot be received, another channel is received and a similar processing is repeated. |
