PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water leakage over a long period of time by preventing fracture of a waterproof material even if a waterproof material receives crack-bridging tension.SOLUTION: A water leakage preventing structure 1 for a joint comprises: an adhesive mortar layer 10 of mortar provided over and around a joint part inside a water channel of a water-channel-constituting member B; the waterproof material 20 provided in such a way as to overlap the adhesive mortar layer 10 inside the water channel and also to accommodate to the joint part; and a protective mortar layer 30 made of the mortar and provided in such a way as to cover the waterproof material 20 inside the water channel. The waterproof material 20 comprises of: a plate-like rubber 21 having adhesivity to the mortar; and a water-impermeable intermediate sheet 22 embedded in an intermediate part in the thickness direction of the rubber 21 and constituted of a material different from the rubber 21.
