PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a friction material for sliding components, in which a pore can be formed stably by solving such a problem that since each of artificial graphite, wollastonite, a carbon fiber and a copper alloy particle has the specific gravity and particle size different from one another, when a base stock of fine particles is mixed with another base stock of large particles and molding work of a mixture is performed, a space is occupied by the fine particles and the pore cannot be formed, and to provide a friction material produced by the method.SOLUTION: The method for producing the friction material for sliding components comprises the steps of: mixing raw materials 10, 11, 12, 14, 16 of the friction material with one another;forming all raw material-granulated powder 18 having a fixed particle diameter; packing the all raw material-granulated powder 18 in the space between molding dies 22A, 22B; and press-molding the packed granulated powder while heating the granulated powder to produce a friction material 20 having pores.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
