PURPOSE: A communications device, a control method thereof, and a program thereof are provided to improve security by restricting the initiation of a communications parameter setting process according to the setting of a network or a wireless network connection. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(102) executes a control computer program saved in a storage unit(103). The storage unit saves various kinds of information such as the control program of the control unit and a communications parameter. A wireless unit(104) executes a wireless LAN communication. An output unit(105) outputs various kinds of information to a user. A setting button(106) applies a trigger which initiates a communications parameter setting process. A device(101) comprises an antenna control unit(107), an antenna(108), and a wired LAN unit(110). An input unit(109) receives various kinds of data and items.
