PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an image data file stored in a data storage device, from an electronic still camera.SOLUTION: An electronic still camera 100 records thumbnail image data, main image data and IDs, as a single image data file, in an internal memory at the time of photographing. The electronic still camera 100 transmits a copy of the recorded image data file to a data storage device 200 and deletes the main image data from the image data file, upon receiving a reception completion signal from the data storage device 200. The electronic still camera 100 transmits a deletion command, a protect command and a protect release command of the image data file along with objective IDs of respective commands to the data storage device 200. The data storage device 200 performs deletion, protection and protect release of an image data file that includes a transmitted ID. |
