PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic for decorative parts which has a silver color tone, which imparts a sense of luxury, a feeling of aesthetic satisfaction and spiritual comfort, which has excellent mechanical characteristics such as hardness and toughness and which shows little color difference.SOLUTION: The ceramic for decorative parts comprising a titanium carbide-sintered compact includes 5 mass% or more and 25 mass% or less of cobalt, 1 mass% or more and 10 mass% or less of chromium and 2 mass% or more and 10 mass% or less of niobium. Chromium and niobium are dissolved with cobalt to form a solid solution. In the ceramic for decorative parts, sintering property is enhanced by improving the wettability of a bonded phase and titanium carbide, and thus particle shedding and chipping during working of the ceramic hardly occur. |
