PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp-lighting device capable of carrying out abnormal detection immediately while downsizing and reducing cost, and to provide a projector device equipped with the same.SOLUTION: In the discharge lamp-lighting device, a detection part 7 for detecting failures such as going out of a lamp La or stopping of a switching circuit 10 is added to a current detection circuit 5. The detection part 7 is structured of: a series circuit consisting of a diode D11 and resistors R11, R12; and a peak hold circuit consisting of a capacitor C11 connected in parallel with the resistor R12, and detects a change of a switching current Is with the use of a resistor Rs fitted for controlling an output power or an output current of the switching circuit 10. When a detected result of the detection part 7 is to be a predetermined threshold value or smaller, the control circuit part 6 determines as an abnormal state with the lamp La turned off, and carries out an abnormal detection process for stopping a driving signal for output control of the switching circuit 10. |
