PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber composite telephone cable which can be connected to an existing telephone cable with proper workability and can secure communication means, even if a passage of the cable is interrupted, and to provide a method of installing the optical fiber composite telephone cable.SOLUTION: The optical fiber composite telephone cable 10 includes a composite wire, including a pair of copper telephone wires 11, 12 which serves as a telephone wire pair; and a single optical fiber core wire 13. Specifically, the cable includes inside a sheath 14 four pairs of telephone optical fiber core composite 15 each of which includes a pair of copper telephone wires 11, 12 twisted together with the single optical fiber core wire 13 coated with a covering layer. The optical fiber composite telephone cable 10 is configured so that the pitch of twisting of the optical fiber core wire 13 coincides with the pitch of twisting of the copper telephone wires 11, 12 and the outside diameter of the optical fiber core wire 13 fits in a circumscribed circle A formed by the copper telephone wires 11, 12. |
