PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-saving compact fixing device, which minimizes length of a fixing roller, a pressure roller, and a heater in fixing on predetermined standardized-size recording paper with a maximum size and reduces occurrence of wrinkles at the end of recording paper having a large width within a fixed limit but above a paper passing width for standardized-size paper with a maximum size for securing good fixing property.SOLUTION: In the fixing device, a fixing roller includes: a first taper-shaped part, wherein an outside diameter thereof increases from the axial direction center part to both ends; and second taper-shaped parts each having the shape, wherein an outside diameter increases further discontinuously from the first taper-shaped part, in both axial end parts. The effective light emission length of the heater is shorter than the paper passing width for predetermined standardized-size paper with a maximum size. |
