PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preview system which responds to immediacy requested by a user even when print processing and preview processing compete against each other for resources.SOLUTION: The print processing apparatus includes a contention situation identification means which holds preview information in which a plurality of preview methods for generating a preview image is associated with contention situations of shared resources 111-114 as preview methods available in the respective situations, and identifies a contention situation of the shared resources to generate competition information; a preview method selection means which selects any one preview method from the plurality of preview methods shown in the preview information held by the preview method holding means according to the competition information; and a preview image generation means which generates the preview image by the preview method selected by the preview method selection means.
