PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate the period of time until an intake valve closes based on the operation state of the variable valve train after calculation of an intake air amount.SOLUTION: The control device for the internal combustion engine includes a displacement angle variation state obtaining means (displacement angle obtaining means and a displacement angle variation rate obtaining means) and a valve closing time estimating means. The displacement angle variation state obtaining means obtains (detects or estimates) the variation state of the displacement angle of the variable valve train in the period since the time of calculation until the valve closes. The valve closing time estimating means estimates the valve closing time, which is the period of time from the time of calculation until the valve closes, based on the estimated variation state of the displacement angle. |
