PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make rewriting frequency of a proximity data track to an appropriate range, while preventing disappearance of the proximity data track.SOLUTION: A HDD of one embodiment integrates weight-reflecting influence degree for the proximity data track of data write-in for the data track. When the integrated value reaches a prescribed value, the HDD rewrites the proximity data track. Influence degree for the proximity data track of data write-in is different, depending on a head rider, the radial position of the written data track, conditions in the case of data-write-in, and position relation between the written data track and the proximity data track. Rewrite frequency can be made within the appropriate range, while preventing disappearance of the proximity data track by performing data-rewritin, based on the degree of influence applied to the proximity track by data write-in. |
