PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently manufacturing metal silicon using a silicicolous plant such as rice husks.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing metal silicon has a step of: forming silica ash containing mainly silica by firing the silicicolous plant; and a step of: adding aluminum into the resultant silica ash and heating it under an inert gas atmosphere to cause a reaction of formula: 4Al+3SiO→3Si+2AlOto obtain the metal silicon. |
