PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly and accurately measuring the number of living contaminants other than lactic acid bacteria without being influenced by existing bacteria in a sample such as food and beverage in which bacteria are present and an agar medium for measuring the number of living contaminants, which is used for the method for measuring the number of living contaminants.SOLUTION: The method for rapidly and accurately measuring the number of living contaminants other than lactic acid bacteria without being influenced by existing bacteria in a sample such as food and beverage in which bacteria are present includes using an agar medium for measuring the number of living contaminants other than lactic acid bacterium, to which lithium chloride, a phosphate, lithium nitrate or lithium lactate are added, as a proliferation inhibitor of lactic acid bacteria so as to specifically suppress proliferation of lactic acid bacteria and to rapidly and accurately measure the number of living contaminants other than lactic acid bacteria. |
