PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel principle to discriminate ultrasonic beams formed in a plurality of directions in parallel.SOLUTION: Transmission beams are formed in a plurality of directions in parallel, reception beams are formed in respective directions, and above parallel formation processes are repeated, so that transmission beams and reception beams are formed respectively in a plurality of directions over a plurality of times. The transmission beam is formed for each direction and each time based on transmission signals of which phase is deflected by shift quantity set for each direction and each time. For reception signals obtained by forming the reception beam for each direction and each time, the phase is put back for the shift quantity set for each direction and each time. Based on a plurality of reception signals obtained over a plurality of times of which phase is put back, the reception signals are formed in accordance with their direction. |
