PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a manufacturing yield of a graded index fiber used for a collimator lens and to stabilize the collimate characteristic.SOLUTION: A first optical fiber 11 is connected to a second optical fiber 12 to transmit light by a first fiber stub 16 incorporating a first graded index GI fiber 24 and a second fiber stub 18 incorporating a second GI fiber 34. The first fiber stub 16 and the second fiber stub 18 having variation in length are combined, so that the addition length of the first fiber stub 16 and the second fiber stub 18 represents the 1/2 pitch length of the first GI fiber 24, and the second fiber stub 18 is shorter than the first fiber stub 16. |
