Disclosed is an exhaust gas recirculation valve mounted so that an axis of rotation (O2) of a shaft (3) is biaxially eccentric in the X and Y directions to an axial center line (O1) of a valve seat (2). The outer circumferential surface of a valve (1) is bevelled to ensure linear contact between the valve (1) and the valve seat (2), and the outer circumferential surface of the valve changes from a positive to a negative angle of inclination at two locations offset from the axial center thereof. In addition, these two locations are joined by segments each having a constant angle of inclination, and other segments are joined smoothly.
