PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device which can efficiently execute pre-scan.SOLUTION: A host IF controller 101 receives a command transmitted by a host unit. An MPU 108 controls storing of pre-scan control information for showing, for every divided area, the receiving time of the write command, the number of times the write commands are received, and a pre-scan completion address, and determines an execution order for executing pre-scan in each divided area by using the pre-scan control information, and the MPU 108 executes pre-scan to each divided area right after power is on by following the determined execution order. |
