Disclosed is a state detecting device which detects a feature value relating to a driver and represented by bioinformation, such as the degree of opening of an eyelid of the driver or the frequency of the heart beat. On the basis of the detected feature value, the group to which the state of the driver belongs, among a first group and a second group into which a plurality of classes determined using the level of the activity of the driver as an index are classified, is identified. Information including the identification result is outputted as an output value, and the class to which the current state of the driver belongs is detected on the basis of the loss value calculated from the output value. The fact that to what level the activity of the driver has lowered can be detected together with the level on the basis of the detected class.
