Disclosed is a composition for a solar cell, which contains a polymer compound (A) and a charge transfer material. The composition for a solar cell is characterized in that the polymer compound (A) is obtained by polymerizing monomers (a) which include a monomer (a-2) that has a chelating ability. The charge transfer material is preferably composed of a carbon material and/or a p-conjugated polymer (ß). When a polymer electrolyte layer of a dye-sensitized solar cell is formed from the composition for a solar cell, the dye-sensitized solar cell is able to achieve efficient charge transfer and sufficient charge life at the same time.
